It has come to my attention that a lot of my time that could be spent sewing is actually spent digging through my sewing stuff, getting sidetracked by the possibilities and then and re-organizing everything. So I decided to participate in the Collete Patterns Fall Palette challenge, choose some coordinating fabrics, and hide the rest. I also choose patterns to go with fabrics and put them together in zip-loc bags.
So first off, here is my fall mood board.
I made the Palette over at Colorlovers (another wonderful place to waste time on the internet.) The mood board was a bit harder and the crappy quality is due to the fact that I made it in Pages, moved it to another program to save as a Jpeg and then had to import it into IPhoto in order to crop it and make it recognizable to my blogging platform. Gah.
I'm a visual person, so this way of paring down the options actually worked very well for me. I boxed up all those brown and grey fabrics I seem to have so much of and will put them in the attic where they can't distract me.
I just wish I could organize the rest of my life so painlessly, (sighs deeply). I guess that's what sorting the laundry is all about, but somehow it's not very fun.
Anyway, I am quite excited about this and wondering if others do this, or if you tend to create based on what you feel like at the moment ?
