Don't worry, I 'm not some cranky Luddite who hates technology, but I do dislike interfacing with machines using digital menus or touch pads. I tire quickly when trying to get a binary form of intelligence to do what I want. Dials and toggle switches (color coded, if possible) are my preferred mode of operation.
Today, I introduce my beloved Viking Husquavarna sewing machine.
Ode to My Viking Oh Model 6010, how I love your 1070's Swedish modern lines.
I love your heavy metal frame encasing sturdy, all-metal parts. And, I love your ivory paint job.
Your color-coded dials with total control of stitch length and width do delight me.
You have served me well these many years through thick, thin, wooly and vinyl.
Surely your dials make me smile. And I wish I had a better photo of them.
I promise to keep you well-oiled, and not drop you ever again.
